Joint Managing Partners of CAL International signed the APPG Covenant to work with cadets by providing them with apprenticeships.

Cliff Kirby and Lee Fogg, Joint Managing Partners of CAL International, signed the APPG (All Party Parliamentary Group) Covenant to work with army, air and sea cadets, providing apprenticeships in order to get them work ready. The APPG Covenant was signed in the company of Stephen Boardman MBE DL. Stephen is from St. Helens and was awarded an MBE in 2009 for his outstanding efforts in Southern Afghanistan. He is now Deputy Lieutenant in West Yorkshire and an Armed Forces Ambassador.

The Armed Forces Covenant acknowledges and understands that those who serve in the armed forces and their families should be treated with respect and fairness in the communities, economy and society they serve with their lives. Support is provided in a number of ways, including providing homes, access to healthcare, financial assistance and help in starting new careers.

Cliff Kirby and Lee Fogg will be offering apprenticeships with CAL International for cadets, which will provide apprentices with an opportunity to earn money whilst learning, training in the skills that employers will want, fantastic progression opportunities in the field of work and a way in which to become more confident in a working environment.

Stephen Boardman MBE DL said, “It is great to see major companies committing to the Armed Forces. Much appreciated Cliff and the team.”

Cliff Kirby also added, “It is an honour to be associated with the Armed Forces Covenant and I hope that offering apprenticeships to army, air and sea cadets can contribute to the fantastic work they do with members of the armed forces and their families.”
